Introduction

Breakfast is a free alarm program that can, among other things, wake you and your computer to music and your favourite newspapers.
You can get the latest version, and additional help, at the official site.

Installation

To install, unzip and run either "Setup.exe" or "Breakfast Installer.msi". Installation requires Windows XP/2000/Vista and the .Net package. If you're not sure if you have installed .net, you can download it here.

Running Breakfast

Once installed, you can access Breakfast under your Start Menu, or by having it load automatically when Windows starts up.

Once loaded, you will be presented a window with 7 buttons:

Setting Alarms

From the settings dialog you can create events, and then associate what alarm actions to go with them.

There is also an option to have Breakfast run automatically at Windows startup.

Once you create an alarm, you can edit what actions will be taken when it goes off by clicking "Edit Alarm"

Editing the Alarms Actions

From this Window you can add as many actions for each alarm as you wish.

The possible actions are:

• Load a website
• Print a website
• Reminder (A message box)
• Play Music (MP3 Format)
• Ask a maths problem, for the heavy sleepers
• Run a program

FAQ

Does Breakfast need to be running for Alarms to be active?

Yes, either in the background or minimized to the taskbar. The memory footprint when minimized is small however, so this shouldn't be a problem.

Have you got Windows XP,2000 or Vista?

My computer won't resume from Standby!

This is a common problem caused by loq quality drivers. Try updating them, particularly if you are using a Tv Tuner card.

What is ACPI and standby mode?

ACPI is an industry specification allowing software designers to interact with computer power management.

It enables things such as Standby mode, where your computer powers of everything except for its memory, allowing it to use little power and emit no noise but still be available in seconds.
