The Daily Express newspaper has urged people to stop grieving over the death of the Princess of Wales and get on with their lives. In a shock editorial the paper tells the people of Britain to “forget Diana and move on” and accuses the masses of wasting huge amounts of time and money remembering the late princess over the past ten years.

The paper goes on to say that the nation’s fixation with the "people’s princess" is both morbid and tragic and makes the UK look like a bunch of softies to the rest of the world. The editorial also says that much of the Diana memorabilia bought by fans of the late princess is overpriced tat and everyone should get a grip and buy something a bit more tasteful instead.

The comments come as huge surprise to many who have seen the Express as very much pro-Diana over the years. Unconfirmed rumors circulating Fleet Street are saying that the paper’s sudden about-turn is the result of growing resentment that no one working for the Express ever gets invited to Diana Memorial events.
